Today, InterContinental Music Awards (ICMA) Founder and Executive Director Shahed Mohseni Zonoozi announced that the 2022 InterContinental Music Awards are celebrating ten years of concerts and competitions by adding the “ICON” award, along with a cash prize of $1,000 to be given to the recipient. . Essentially, this new highest award tier is akin to “Best in Show” on a global musical level and will be chosen from the pool of official winners from all continents. Entries are now open for the world’s most diverse and inclusive music awards; musicians can submit their ICMA nomination until midnight April 15, 2022 PST at https://www.submit.intercontinentalmusicawards.com/
ICMAs are unique in their global reach, inviting performers, songwriters and producers to submit music based on the genre and continent where they believe their music is best suited to compete. For example, an Iranian woman who dreams of performing K-Pop can submit her music to compete in Korea in the K-Pop category. A rapper from Norway can apply to compete in the North American Hip Hop category. ICMA’s mission is to reduce geographical barriers and embrace music as a tool of unity. As a bonus, they are also offering the new cash prize and meaningful music education opportunities for winners and runners-up.
The InterContinental Music Awards is a Los Angeles-based music competition that annually rewards and recognizes musical talent from around the world. Entries are ranked by geographic continent or region, as well as musical genre, and are evaluated by an independent panel of judges with years of experience in the music, entertainment, film and media industries in Hollywood. Winners receive $1,000 cash, career-boosting prizes including a full DIY music school scholarship, one-on-one coaching and mentoring from judging panel members, the opportunity to submit a sync license, a chance to perform in the InterContinental Concert Series, CD Baby discounts, and more.
